Dear Friends,
Can anybody explain the dust collection system suitable for a "paint production line".
Best regards

Very open ended question.

Are you "producing paint", or are you "using paint to paint something else"?

What kind of paint? Combustible, flammable? Liquid? Powdercoat? Urethane? What's the MSDS say?

How are you applying it? Sprayed on with compressed air? Electrostatic spray gun, or conventional HVLP? By people, or by robots?

High production volume and usage (e.g. a car body every 60 seconds), or piddly nothing (e.g. someone squirting paint on a little piece in a spray booth every now and again)?

Use of the word 'dust' suggests that it's for a powdercoating line.

... or for an area where painted or primed objects are sanded.

... but it would be better to ask the source for clarification.

The first thing you need to do, is gather up all of the MSDS information for every single ingredient in every single product. Many aspects of the design will be governed by the worst case. If any single ingredient is a flammable liquid, you've got an electrical classification issue and the whole thing and a fair bit of surrounding area is going to need explosion-proof ratings. If any single ingredient is a combustible dust, not only do you have an electrical classification issue, but you also have a potential deflagration ("explosion") issue in the dust collector. If either case exists (which is VERY likely in my experience) ... it's time to hand the design responsibility over to someone with the credentials and experience to do it right. It may cost something, but less than the injury or property damage resulting from a fire. Local regulations may leave no choice but to have someone qualified do the design.
