Hello!

When I assign certain colour and a material to a part and than want to see a section cut I go to "Edit work section". In there I set "Cap settings" to "body colour". Now the section should be the same colour as the rest of the body but it is not! The sam thing happends in assembly mode when I have more parts. The colour of all parts section is the same- grayish.

How can I get the section to be the same colour as the rest of a body?

Sorry for bad English.

Looking at your assembly it appears that ALL of the Components, with the possible exception of one component, are all the same "grayish" color.

What version of NX are you using?

I' m using NX 7.5. The lower and upper body are the same colour but again it is different from the section colour. The part with holes for example is zinc plated so it's yelow, the central tube is made of brass so it almoust red. Not all components are same.

This works fine for me in NX 7.5. How did you define the color of the bodies? Make sure that you're NOT editing the color of the faces. If you do that, the 'Cap' color will show the actual color of the BODY which is not related to the color of the faces of the body if you've edited the faces.

I use "View/ Visualization/ Materials/ Textures" command. The "Selection filter" pallete was on "Solid Body" option. Then I select the body and go to "Inherit" and from "System materials" pallete pick certain material. After that I go to "Launch material editor" and edit colour shade and lightening. Now I go to "Tools/ Material properties" and assign material to the body so i can calculate its weight etc. I dont know what i'm doing wrong. Maybe it's about "Advance light" or "Shadow" settings...

Sorry, material and textures are not considered to be Body Colors by the system. Rather they're treated as 'finishes' which are applied to a part, sort of like a coat of paint or plating. The original color of the body when created, or if edited using...

Edit -> Object Display...

...this is the color that is shown when you enable the 'Body Color' option while performing a 'View Section' of the model/assembly.

That's it! As You can see I am sort of beginner in NX modeling.

Thank You for your effort Mr. Baker.
