Depends on how big the part really is.
I have also seen this message with a corrupt file.

Are you using the latest version of NX3?

What type of part did you see this error in and what were the circumstances that led to it? I saw this problem with a small assembly drawing which contained a Spline by Poles Feature to define the boundary to be used for a detail view.

I saw the out of memory in storage manner when trying to make the Master Model Assembly the displayed part. I was unable to open even the assembly used in the Drawing by itself.

Are you seeing a similar situation? I filed a PR with UGS support but they did not request the Part models just the .syslog file. And by the time they did they were no longer any backups on the system.

Please file a PR if you haven't already because they closed mine and I had to recreate my assembly and drawing because I was sick of this error costing me time on my project.

I tried Part clean ups and everything else to try to get the problem to go away but was unable to do so in any other way than remaking my Assembly and Drawing.

The error is occuring in an assembly of moderate size. The parts I designing around have been received by Parasolid from Catia V5. I checked the body from Catia and they check as a single surface not a "single" body. I think this may be where the issue is. For reference I have three converted parts in my assembly and the MB size range from 58.9 to 72.3. The error usually happens when I am attempting to adjust the "Mating" of the assembly. I have postioned the customer parts in the assembly with the "Re-Positon" command, not "Mate Face To Face".

We have found that there may be corrupt geometry in the part that causes this error. (Seems as if the system attempts to create a piece of bad geometry and gets in an endless loop, thus using up the resource). T

Try running an examine geometry to see if there are self-intersecting faces, spikes and cuts, etc. If there are, try recreating the geometry without these problems and see if this helps.

I got this message a few times. Each time, the error was due to the hard disk being full or close to full. This caused the error by not having the space to write the temp file to the scratch directory.

Another thing to check is the size of your swap file or page file. If you don't know how to check or change this, your IT support should be able to help you. When you have NX running you can also call up your Windows Task Manager and goto the Performance tab. There are sections on Physical Memory and Kernel Memory. Check these as well. If your hard drive is close to full, it will limit the amount of pagefile you are able to use no matter what you have it set for. It should be set for a minimum of 2MB.
