"PUP" Trailer Design and Terminology

Hi,

I'm new here so be gentle please.

I am currently trying to find information on "PUP" trailer design, the front axle and geometry in particular, and learning the correct or industry terminology for the components.

Any heavy trailer designers out there that could help me out?

You are very new. This is your first post.

Some friendly advice on how to get the most help from active members.

Ask specific questions. No one here wants to write a text book here, as we mostly also work and while we are willing to share thoughts and go into depth on specific details, we seldom want to do in depth studies on a broad subject.

Do Google and site searches to get your more basic questions answered. What is left will then be more specific by process of elimination.

Does your local traffic regulator have any documents with rules or guidelines.

Do trailers currently on the market have a compliance plate. if so what do they comply to, and can you use that info to track down a copy of the regs.

This is a world wide site, so it helps if you state from what region you are, as it is no use me quoting Australian regulations if you are in USA
