Hello all,

I am doing a SOL 600 analysis but Nastran gives me an error of "zero thickness" in some elements. Obviously, I checked those elements and they have properly defined their properties so I don't know what can I do.

I've done a lot of linear analysis to that model and all of them have run okey, therefore I suppose that the model is well constituted, where could be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Did this error come up before the nonlinear iteration or in the middle of the iteration?

Thanks for your response.

It appears before the iteration

There should be some problem in the shell element property definition. You need to check those entries.

I've already checked that and I've run SOL 106 analysis without any problems.

I am almost sure that it is not problem of the shell elements because I've used the same model with different connector and it worked perfectly with Implicit Nonlinear Analysis.

Could be the bar elements that I am using to transmit the forces the origin of the problem?

I've tried to run the same implicit analysis replacing bar elements by quad ones but it still gives me the same error so this kind of elements cannot be the reason.

Moreover I've redefined all properties and nothing has changed since then, I havo no more ideas so please could anyone help me?

Thanks!
