Hi,

I'm trying to apply a force on a shaft using the ANSYS mechanical package.
The shaft is solid as seen in the picture below, The force I'm looking to apply needs to be radial like, directing away from the surface of the shaft as seen in the picture below. (purple arrows in the picture).

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dallan

Create a cylindrical coordinate system and define the force using it.

If you`re using Workbench, it`s pretty straightfoward, if not define it using cylindrical coordinate system as L_K suggested.
