Hi everyone,

I got some calculation sheet that explain how to determine radial stress from rubber material being compressed with axial pressure 'P' (see figure).
As far as I look around, I've never seen such formula like this, as I never dealing with rubber material before.
does anybody can enlight me where I can find some reference for this particular formula to let me have more understanding about this?

Thank you in advance

Yudhi

Google Poison's ratio. It is a property of all materials, including steel.
