Hi there,

I'm simulating the bending of a section of straight pipe by using a rotational velocity at each end. My simulation works fine although i can't seem to find a method of measuring the radius of curvature of the deformed pipe. Is there a way to do this? or would i have to specify this in the history outputs before running the analysis? (new user to abaqus)

Thanks for any advice!
g.

You can calculate the radius of curvature from the deformation of three nodal positions along the pipe using some trigonometry of a circle. You'd have to do it manually though or by using a spreadsheet.
