Raised Text on Parts

Hi,
I am wanting to put raised or "solid geometry" text on a part that is to be injection molded. I am able to create the text the way that I want it however, once the text is in place, model regeneration is incredibly slow. Also, our mold vendor requires an iges file of our part. I have not been able to open the created iges file that has the part with the text on it. Are there techniques or settings for Pro/E that might make transfering the text geometry to our mold vendor easier?
Does anyone have any experience with text on injection molded parts?

I have used datum curves and chosen the text option in the sketch then crated a protrusion using the use edge option. I've never had that cause me problems.

I hadn't tried the "use edge" command for making the text a solid feature. In the mean time, I have just put cosmetic text on the part - so that it will be visible in the 2D detail drawing. I will try your suggestion, as I am curious to see whether or not the way I created the text features was the problem.

Is the purpose of the text to display manufacturing data (part number, revision, etc), or does it contribute to the function of the finished product? If the style and size of the text isn't critical, you may save yourself, and your mold vendor, time by not adding it as a solid feature. Most CAM software can engrave text in a mold without any 3D data. If you add this text to the solid part, your vendor may end up wasting time deleting all of those tiny surfaces from the IGES model before generating his tool paths. An alternative to a solid feature is to create the text using a datum curve or cosmetic feature, or a 2D note on the drawing.

Our mold vendor is quite agreeable to any of our suggestions and hasn't yet commented on the solid text being in the IGES file. I certainly agree that, while it is possible to put the solid text in the model,depending on the software capabilities at the other end-they may just have to work around or delete the text.
I have added the text as a cosmetic feature -for reference only.
