Hello,
I am using NX7.5 and I want my Model Template file to create solid features in random colors. It would be nice if the color remained the same for each part file. This way assemblies will have children that are different colors and not the same greyish default NX color. I am new to any programming inside of NX, but not to programming as a whole.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

There are some options without resorting to programming (not that I have anything against programming!).
[ol 1]
[li]You can change the color of the part body (Edit -> object display) before you save the file, when it is added as a component it will inherit the part body color. Or, change the color of the component after it is added to the assembly.[/li]
[li]In the object preferences, change the "solid body" color option from "color" to "default". This means any solid body created will use the chosen default color (easily changed while modeling in object preferences) rather than the old grey color. [/li]
[li]In Preferences -> Visualization -> Color/Font, you can turn on "random color display" in your assembly. If you really want to spice things up, choose the "faces" option rather than the "bodies" option.[/li]

Cowski,
The third option is helpful, but I would like for the colors once assigned to remain the same. I believe this would have to accomplished with a journal?
