Hi
I am doing Ratcheting of a pipe bend in Abaqus.
I have cyclic stress-strain curve data.
I have given the data as shown in the attachment.
But what hardening should I select and should I give any suboptions? I have no other data other than the cyclic curve.
To my knowledge, the cyclic curve is the result of the effect of kinematic hardening or isotropic hardening or any other behavior, then is there a necessity to select the type of hardening again?

Please help

Check the documentation chapter "Models for Metals Subjected to Cyclic Loading" and the documentation example "Uniaxial ratcheting under tension and compression".

I am not sure what code of construction you are using but an example of an elastic-plastic ratcheting procedure is discussed in ASME VIII Div. 2 Part 5.

For this you essentially use an elastic-perfectly plastic material model with isotopic hardening. This is conservative relative to kinematic hardening for a ratcheting check.

Cycle the loads and check for incremental strains.

Of course if there was no plastic strains in the first loading cycle then you won’t have any incremental strains..

There are other methods to check for ratcheting as well in the code.
