RCP pipe cover/class

In FDOT manual it requires 7" from top of pipe + base + asphalt. However there is a footnote(note 6 in fdot index) that states 2' min for class S pipe. Is the standard RCP pie used class I? If so where do I find cover requirements for different class of pipes? we have elliptical pipe because we have an existing building on side and can't raise site unless we put switchbacks for ADA purposes which is not feasible. any advice/suggestions would be great. thanks

I would assume that generally class III is the standard and less than 2' minimum cover is recommended for all classes in order to reduce the impact of live loads. less than 2' will either require higher class, special design or a concrete blanket protection. ACPA has a design manual for RCP

less than 2' typically requires CL.IV pipe. Also word from the wise, the class of pipe and type of bedding is extremely important the deeper you go. Over 14' of cover (9' to be conservative) check ACI and ACAP (
