I have an auxiliary view projected off the part's angled edge. For clarity purposes I would prefer this view re-oriented so that its edges are vertical/horizontal to the page. Does this meet ANSI standards? Do I need additional symbols (i.e. origin, axis) to indicate its new orientation?

It's ok as long as the hinge line is properly defined and you note the orientation change in the view label (i.e. ROTATED 30(degrees) CCW).

By hinge I assume you mean the line with the two leaders and letters identifying the view.

And where is the best place to note the orientation change? Right below the "VIEW X-X" call out? For example:

VIEW X-X
ROTATED 105° CW
