Hello all,

How do I determine if repad is required or not on 45 deg branch, the branch is 12" and run pipe is 28". It will be a stub-in.

TIA

Perform the calculation as per B31.3 304.3. If you dont satisfy the area replacement in 304.3.3, you need a pad.

Or an ~"integrally reinforced fitting"

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

Note that 45 degree reinforcing pads is tricky to make and hard to install. Make sure that bevel and weld details are correct for the profiles you'll need.

Thanks for the heads up, might split it into two sections. TOP (run) and BOP (branch) is only 11", really tight space.
