Is there a way to make an HP DesignJet Z6100 into a Z6100PS? Is there a physical component that allows for postscript printing on the standard 6100?

You would need to reprogram the processor board, probably. However, this question is probably better suited for which is more computer hardware and software oriented.

Probably a bit late - it is normally a different or extra PROM in the printer. If it handles PS as well as HPGL it will have an extra PROM. If it handles only PS then it is a different PROM.

About the only systems that use PROMs these days are old-time military systems...
