I am looking for a source for real time x-ray equipment. The application will be aluminum die cast automotive components.
Can anyone help me ? I am located in Northwest Ohio, the closer the better.

Thanks in advance.

We currently use real-time x-ray on castings. I would suggest you look closely at your requirements, as it can open up a whole can of worms, what you thought were good castings on the outside suddenly under x-ray have levels of shrinkage, which leads to the moral question do you try to fix problem or let sleeping dogs lie.

In addition you will find there is a general vaugness with customers over defect levels, If you give a customer a chart and suggest that level 4 shrinkage sponge would be acceptable, he will think "no, i want level 1 or 2" this would make the part aerospacce quality and therefore command aerospace prices.

Companies to try are

Feinfocus
and

ABB

BOSELLO is an Italian company that has been making real time X ray system for more than 30 years. They offer a lot of technical advice as well as supplying the equipment. They have a nimber of off the shelf systems.

You could try North Star Imaging ( They do great work and offer classes on x-ray inspection. In fact when I went through 3 of the other students were looking at your exact application.

Good Luck!
