I would like to simulate a metal plate going down on a plastic tote. I have donne simulation with contact region before, but what I don't grasp with this one, is how to let the plate move along one axis to apply the load. I always presume that all parts needs to be fully constrain, so my plate don't have the liberty to move. When I do it without a assembly the load affect the part more like a pressure and the week part of the tote is moore deforme that what it should.

NrM,

Do you mean you have to study the behaviour of a plastic tote subjected to a pressure load?
Or do you have to simulate contact between the two parts (plastic tote and metal plate)?

Regards!

NrM,

I'd do a Contact Analysis in this way:
1.Fully constrain the Tote
2.Apply the Force load to the Plate in axial direction
3.Constrain the Plate in the directions different from the axial one (you should use Cylindrically Coordinate System and lock the radial and tangential directions)
4.Apply Contact Regions

This is what I'd do ...
Regards!
