I wondered why aluminium alloy is not used for plastic extruder barrel material ?
Is it mainly because of the galling resistance of aluminium alloy ?
What is the other factors that aluminium alloy is not suitable for plastic extruder barrel?
Also i'm planning to use aluminium silicon alloy grade that is used for car engine block which i heard is the most galling resistant grade of all aluminium alloys.

You certainly have asked similar questions more than a dozen times but I don't know why you ask.

Aluminum isn't used because it isn't the best material for the function.

That should not prevent you from placing an order with an extruder screw company and telling them it needs to be some alloy of aluminum. I'm sure any extruder screw company will be happy to take your money to make one. When they deliver it they will block you telephone number because they don't want you asking why it snapped in half when you used such a weak material. More than likely - they will block your number as soon as you say "aluminum."

Sorry for asking a many times because I'm not fully sure about it
Also i wanted to know what is the main disadvantages other than galling and how many disadvantages point list?

You seem to be obsessed with galling; you should be looking to see what other materials are actually being used and compare their material properties, or better yet, READ the literature and advertising

High thermal expansion makes keeping needed tolerances difficult.
Low wear resistance is a issue with any filled polymer causing excessive erosion.
Limited strength at elevated temperatures may require design changes.
Plenty of other negatives beyond galling resistance.

FWIW, here's ChatGPT's take on your problem; note that aluminum didn't even make it to the top 5 materials. I think that even diamond would top aluminum on the list

Note that OpenAI explicitly mentions that ChatGPT can give out wrong information

IRS... is that a reply by AI? If it is, Wow...

Chat GPT has made it as far as a marketing or sales level conversation. This has ZERO engineering value.

And it's obvious because it makes no mention galling issues of all of the materials recommend (well silicon carbide has other issues than galling).

We have created an artificial politician.... yay.

I didn't say it has engineering value... on first glance, it's quite a package; it had no idea that it had that capability. I'm trying to get my old Win 7 machine up and running (don't know why it stopped) where I have Delphi installed... to compile the Travesty program I just downloaded. I've ocr'ed the above clip and have the text file... I want to try running it through travesty just to see what comes out of the sausage machine...

Barrels and nozzles are not the same thing. The nozzle is at the end of the barrel.
