Hello Members,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions :-
We are working on a product which is a switching module (switched remotely). We plan to have it installed in residential homes. The idea is to have the module attach to the back of a new 5-15R / 5-20R receptacle with a fire retardant (min. 1hour) adhesive sealant. The module would be pre-wired to the receptacle side terminals. for discussion sake let's call it a smart-receptacle.
Questions -
1.) If we mount this module (UL listed) on the back of the receptacle is there a chance it might affect the UL listing of the power outlet ?
2.) Can we piggyback the module on the back of a new power outlet ?
2.) By replacing an old receptacle with this new smart-receptacle would be violation NFPA 70A 406.3 (D) ?
3.) When installing the smart receptacle in California what are Code sections we would need to comply with ?
Thanks
