Recommendation for practical text on Noise Control Engineering

Hello,

Any recommendations for an engineering text on noise control? I currently have Engineering Noise Control by Bies and Hansen and it is extremely obtuse and more of a literature survey of all the different research publications on acoustics. Looking for something with more practice than background.

Beranek wrote good stuff combining maths and practical experience. The bruel and kjaer bokks are good. Harris is also good.

To my mind there's little point in getting over detailed in the analysis when there are so many unknowns.
