Recommendation of Bolting Material for 600# Stainless Steel Piping Class applied NACE MR0103 1

Dear Sirs,

Please give recommendation of bolting material considering followings.

1. Low strength bolting materials are limited to class 150 and class 300 in accordance with note 4 of table 1B in ASME B16.5.
Quote " These bolting materials may be used with all listed materials but are limited to Class 150 and Class 300 joints. See para. 5.3.4 for recommended gasket practices." unquote

2. ASTM A193 Grade B8MA, Class 1A is specified in Table 9 of NACE MR0103-2013 edition as material meeting the requirement of section 2.

SSC is mainly related to material strength and high hardness is main reason for susceptibility to SSC.

So, please give recommendation bolting material which meets the requirement of NACE MR0103 and is applied to 600# Class.

b) Are you comfortable with unexposed bolting of low alloy steel in a stainless steel piping system?

Exposed

b) Are you comfortable with unexposed bolting of low alloy steel in a stainless steel piping system?

And Owner wants to apply stainless bolting material to Stainless steel piping applied NACE MR0103.
