Are you stub acme threads to make up most connections on my tool designs. These are downhole tools used in oil and gas wells. I had been using high temperature seal Grease. I torque the outer connections to 10,000 foot pounds do you prevent the tool from backing off while running in the hole with pipe. The tools remain in the hole and I do not have to back the connections off. Seals are also used these connections so I use the Heitkamp seal Greece as a lubricant to prevent galling.
The material is low alloys steel 110 KSI mys 36 Rc hardness.
Is this acceptable or would you recommend a different thread grease? Where could I go to find the appropriate grease for this application?
