Recommended reading for metallurgical novice

I'm a chemical engineer in the oil & gas industry with limited knowledge of petroleum processing metallurgy. I'm specifically interested in the grades of carbon and stainless steels.

I hear different grades discussed often but I'm unfamiliar with their properties or how one grade of steel may be better suited for a service than another.

I'm looking for any information (websites, books, magazines, etc.) that will be helpful given my limited knowledge of metallurgy.

"Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist" was an actual class that I participated in a number of years ago. It was taught in Cleveland, Ohio by ASM International.
