If you are in an area which normally uses ASME VIII, then you'll probably find yourself using VIII Div. 1. If your jurisdiction prefers another code, you'll use that. Where will this vessel be installed?

Thanks, jte.

I usually use SEC VIII Div.1. But which part of Div1 is for rectangular vessel? I am designing a leakbox which will be like a rectangular vessel.

How big? Atmospheric or elevated pressures? What is the product?

If it's relativly small, and free vented (no pressure) go with UL 142. Much simpler than ASME.
