On a 304 stainless steel pipe with water running through it, a drain valve made of red brass was installed to the ss304 pipe drain, will these two dissimilar metals cause corrosion?
It appears there may be a risk for galvanic corrosion risk, from one source, voltage differences of 0.2 Volts or more suggest a galvanic corrosion risk, between red brass and 304 stainless steel, there is a difference of 0.18 to 0.35.
a. red brass (-0.31 to -0.4)
b. stainless steel (-0.05 to -0.13)
thanks for any help!
