Hi!

I use the predefined field in order to save some steps of my analysis but it generates huge files, especially .abq file and odb file. Is there any method to reduce these files in terms of saving data?
Thanks!

What is the purpose of predefined field in your analysis ? Do you prescribe stress or temperature or field variable ? Is it imported from previous analysis ? In general to reduce .odb file size you can start with reducing the increment and/or output frequency so that results are calculated and saved less often.

I’am replicating a clinical procedure composed by several steps, so when one or more steps are ok I use predefined field to import the initial state coming from the last frame of the last step in order to start from the new ones. Do you know what save the .abq file and if tere is any method to reduce this file?

This .abq file is state file generated in Abaqus/Explicit simulations and required to run restart analysis or perform import from Explicit to Standard. Size of .abq file will be increased if you run explicit analysis with double precision.
