Model shows a "RefAxis 4" when highlighted by curser, which couldn't found on edgebar feature tree.

Anybody know how it created and how to edit it?

I've seen this on models downloaded from vendor sites even when in SE format. What are you wanting to do with the Ref axis. Typically you just show and hide Ref axes.

anybody know how to creat Ref axis through cylinder?

Hi,

SE has no function for it; a ref axis for a cylinder is implied but can't be created manually.

"anybody know how to creat Ref axis through cylinder?

Tools-Show All-Toggle Axes then select the cylindrical face you want a Ref Axis for.

I've never used a ref-axis in 10 years of SolidEdge.
Has anyone else ?
What would you use it for ?

There may be several uses of ref axis,

Some of them I know are....

-While creating top-down assembly, using other part cylinder center ref.

-to create ref planes passing through it

In the past I didn't use them because I could not figure out how to turn them on. Instead I would create a sketch in the part. Now that I know how to activate Ref Axes I use them more often.

there never arose a situation where I would have needed them

David,
It may be good idea to create sketch, how do you constraint it to center of cylinder?

And the way you show in your earlier post (show ref-axis), doesn't work.

Make sure you are selecting the correct commands. DO NOT use Tools-Show All-Reference Axes. Instead use Tools-Show All-Toggle Axes. Then click on a cylindrical surface. If ouu do it correctly a Ref Axes feature should appear in the Feature Pathfinder.
