I would like to know which are the solid residues that petrol refining process,
specially if there are any which contain alumina . and what refineries do with these kind of residues??

Waste solids containing alumina that come to mind:

• catalysts
• catalyst supports.
• percolation or contact bleaching clays.

Some are regenerated in situ, some ex situ and some delivered to municipal solid waste sites for incineration and disposal.
