Reinforced Concrete costs 2

I'm looking for some reinforced concrete costs.....specifically I am looking to verify some numbers I typically use. (I've looked at some older threads and they are a bit dated. And I don't have RS Means (before anyone asks).)

I typically use:

$215/CY for slabs on grade [CY= cubic yard]

$300/CY for low-rise reinforced concrete frames (or mats) of moderate difficulty

$350-400/CY for taller, difficult RC frames (this includes situations where the ties are going to be a pain)

This is for the southeast (say for a city like Atlanta). And this includes re-bar, forming, concrete, stripping the forms, etc, etc......the whole thing except for earthwork and specialty items like joint material.

I've always been told to use $10 per square foot for slabs on grade which assuming a 6" slab works out to almost double your number. A cubic yard of concrete goes a long way for a slab on grade which tends to force it to cost a bit more for finishing.

Well I just got an estimate to review on a tall PT concrete building. In the US, west coast.

Spread footings: $380/cy
Grade beams: $550/cy
Mat foundation: $380/cy
Slab on grade: $9/sf
Conventional elevated slab: $30/sf
Columns: $1030/cy
PT slabs: $25/sf
PT transfer beams: $2100/cy
Below grade walls: $40/sf
Shear walls: $80/sf

@WARose - I would suggest comparing the ENR Cost Indexes for Atlanta with LA or San Francisco and adjust the prices from DETstru accordingly.

Some of those values are very specific for a particular structure and cannot be used as a general indication of costs.

e.g. Conventional elevated slab at $30/sf and PT slab at $25/sf are very dependent on span lengths and loading type. I have done PT slabs with spans from 20' to 50', and I can assure you the sf rates are very different.

I use $10-12 a square foot for slabs on grade....similar to jayrod12....just had a project bid at about that number for replacement of a SOG....the $10-$12 is for placement. Demo is extra.

Your PT elevated slab price is low. I would use $35 min. per square foot. For conventional elevated slabs, $30/sf is reasonable.

Just ordered my 2018 R.S. Means so I'll check against that when it comes in, but I usually base my opinions of cost on actual bid price history for the projects we do, with a cross check with Means.
