You should consider the secondary nozzle as an opening and check it with reinforcement rules.
I presume that the secondary nozzle is not within the reinforcement length used for the main one, as it would be unusually close to the vessel wall. If this was the case things would become a little more complicated, as the hole of the secondary nozzle would take out some reinforcing material used for the main one.
Also consider that no reinforcing material may be used twice, for both the main nozzle and the secondary one. prex

Best regards.

Thanks for the input. But I'm not sure whether u all understand the problem. Let me describe the problem. I have a 8" nozzle attaching to the shell. We all know that the shell will be reinforced. If another 4" nozzle attaching to the 8" pipe perpendicularly, is the 8" nozzle require reinforcement?
Which part of the code says?

Yes, indeed: as I told you, you must check the reinforcement of the 4" opening according to code rules. Of course the 8" pipe will be the wall in this case.
There is no need for a specific part of the code to say that: it falls into the general rules for opening reinforcement.
Check also the other points in my previous post. prex
