Reliance Flexpak drive 2

Does anyone have any info on these old drives. I am in the
process of interfacing via a plc to these drives but do not
have any info on their "insides". What I need to know is when is their regulators released "suicide lifted". Is it
the same time as when the m contactor picks up? Any info
would be much appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "suicide lifted", by I am sure archive documentation exists for these drives at Reliance. I'd contact them directly.

Just a note, there were Flexpaks, Flexpak Plus's, and Flexpak 3000's.

Be sure you know exactly which one you've got. Always best to have the model and serial number.
 
Comment: FlexPak Plus, effective February 1, 1994, is a versatile, reliable chassis D-C drive for non-regenerative (1/4 - 5 HP) and regenerative (1/4 - 7 1/2 HP) applications.
Model Numbers were 14C1XX, where XX are various digits depending on HP and regenerativeness. The catalog info did not include any reference documentation pertaining to internals. Apparently, the manuals included that.
Similarly, for FlexPak 3000 (1.5 - 60 HP).
In 1999, the FlexPak Plus Three Phase Analog DC Drive was from 50HP to 300HP DC Non-Regenerative Applications.
 
The drive is a 5 HP Flexpak Plus IM-3900. They were
installed in 1984. I have tried searching the different
Rockwell sites but probably need to contact them.

I have interfaced several MaxPac and Flexpac with PLC's
but I am not sure just what it is you are looking for?
do you require reliance drawings or do you need info on how
to control drive with 0-10vdc PLC analog output?
 
AFab. The drives I normally interface to have a suicide or
enable bit that gets lifted before the reference
gets sent. This bit releases the speed regulator and
the drive can start controlling. Now with the Flexpak
I don't see this facility and don't have any dwgs to
see what goes on on the inside. Any info would be much
appreciated.
 
Suggestion: Reassess whether or not it is worthwhile to have a high life-epectancy plased on the drive that is about 20year old, no matter how much time it run.
