Relocated gas turbine and existing inlet duct blasting/painting issue

We are erecting a owner supplied relocated gas turbine and its used air inlet duct at a new project site. While the Owner wants us to blast and repaint the used duct that's now erected adjacent to the turbine he has brought up the concern that dust/particles left on inlet duct associated with blasting process could potentially make its way into the turbine. Looking for recommendations/solutions as to how this can be accounted for.

This sounds like an "after-the-fact" Client Originated Change Order.
You need to prepare a proper Change Order Notice complete with a full description for:
(a) Disassembly of the Duct Work from its current location
(b) Transport to a proper Paint Shop
(c) Sand Blast and Painting
(d) Transport back from the Paint Shop
(e) Reinstall the Duct Work

You need to include an Estimate for all:
-- Time?
-- Material?
-- Services required?

Before starting, get the Clients Signature of approval for the Extra

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results

If the GT is not running, its inlet can be simply tarped over, plastic wrapped and duct-taped up, or covered with plywood (depending on shapes of the new GT inlet) to prevent dust injection from near construction work of ANY kind..

Do NOT run the GT when blasting nearby.

If you're really worried about cleaning up all the abrasive, just use an abrasive that sublimes.

Like crushed dry ice.

The process is already worked out, and has been offered commercially.
Search on, e.g., CO2 blasting.
