Hi,
I am simply modeling a 2d rectangular solid with a very fine mesh. Within the rectangle there exists some gaps which at those locations I do not want to define any elements. I am using a parametrized input file so when I build the model, the easiest way is to use *ELGEN to define elements across the whole rectangle, but I don't want elements at the gap locations so is there a way to remove certain elements defined by *ELGEN?

Also, at times I am interested in removing elements from a elset. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Yes, you can remove elements if you work with an orphan mesh part and use the mesh editing tool. You have to use the display group and somehow select the elements that you want to delete i.e. if you can get a display of only those elements that you want to delete, then you can select all those elements and delete them.'
