ST4 here. Any tricks for renumbering my section/detail views? I'm now up to VIEW AX but so many have been removed/added that there is no more logic.

Thanks,

Griffin

Not automatically, but you can reidentify them manually. Click on the detail circle or the section line annotation. In the property bar (quick bar), you will see the letter identification. Change it to one that doesn't exist. Be sure to document the change in your ECO.

Yeah, thanks I had gotten that far, was just hoping for some automated thingie to make life easier. Alas, as usual with SE they make you swim the muck.

Application button/Solid Edge options: Annotation -> Auto-naming of View annotations

OK, I think that might have worked. I changed it to "follow defined object sequence" and I defined the sequence as:
cutting plane
detail envelope
view plane (none in this draft)
datum frame (none in this draft)

It LOOKS as if its renumbered all views accordingly, so that A til AH are all my section views and AI til AX are all my detail views.

You can also define the order and which letters to leave out (eg I, O)

Solid Edge Options > Annotation > Specify Anotation Letters

Great! And I can also specify which symbols to use for which annotations. Like A-Z for cutting planes and 1-99 for detail views etc.
