How do I reorient the part or datums?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about changing the entire models orientation with respect to the default datums?

I used to use the Reroute Replace Feature I think it was called option but this could lead to problems with references later on in the part. It might be easiest to just rename the datum planes and create new Front Top Right etc. views. I don't think you can re save the default orientation but you can save a def_new view for this.

In order to get the replace feature to work create a Datum with zero offset from your Front Plane. Then replace the ref feats one by one in a planned sequence. This will prevent you from getting two planes that should be perpendicular | from being // to each other.

If you attempt to do this try getting some coffee first or make a simple practice model. Good Luck [peace]

To swap Front and Top planes to reorient your model,

Replace with
Top DTM#
Front Top
DTM# Front

I would use insert mode to place the parallel DTM anfter the DEF Planes and then do the replace REF to prevent failures.

As I said this is probably a lot more complicated then resaving the 6 planar Views.

Hi,

A band aid solution would be to assemble your part into a new assembly in the orientation you would like.

The best way would be to start the part over in the correct orientation. It should not take to long if you have already created it once.
