I'm hoping someone has a quick answer to this.

NX4 seems to let users create WAVE linked geometry without the WAVE license, but I have yet found a way to repair/re-associate a broken link.

Essentially I created some linked bodies, the customer sent new models. I replaced these models (model is different, so I can't just roll the revision on the customer model). I have to break the links. I add the new customer models as new components, and now I want to re-link the customer model to the solid bodies generated/edited earlier.

To start with, you do NOT need the WAVE module in order to create/edit/re-parent WAVE-linked objects. All you need is an Assembly license.

As for how does one 're-parent' (re-link) a broken link, just make the Component which contains the broken link the Work Part, then from the Part Navigator, double-click the 'Linked Body/Face/Edge/...' feature, select your replacement referenced object, hit OK and you should be back in business.

Thanks,

That definitely helped. I must not be looking/searching the right terminology in the help. I could not find this anywhere.

Thanks again.
