Dears,

We are an european pressure equipment manufacturer (ASME U-1 certified) and we have to quote for the replacement of some tube bundles with destination Calgary, Alberta.

I would like to understand what steps need to be followed to certify this replacement, e.g. whether registration with the National Board is required or if a new Canadian Registration Number is needed or if there are specific national regulations and how we can obtain these things.

Thanks in advance

In Alberta the authority is ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association). I would suggest contacting them directly. I have always found them to be very helpful. There is also a fair bit of information available on their website.

Since National Board is a U.S. organization you can be sure they aren't required.

If it's a replacement in kind (Identical to the one it's replacing), you don't need a new CRN, but you still need to have it inspected and signed off by the National Board.
