good day

is there any requirement that can be followed for ESSAB 7018-1 electrode condition before re-baking. the electrode initial issued to site as vacuum pack and returned to store after 12 hours and stored at consumable store without power for 12 hours.

From an AWS website:

"Most electrode manufacturers have a recommendation as to the required baking temperature for low hydrogen electrodes once you have opened the electrode box.

We bake newly opened electrodes at 300 degrees celcius for 1 hour minimum and then they are transferred to a holding oven of 100 degrees celcius.

I do not have AWS D1.1 at home with me but most codes/specifications have some sort of reference as to how long a low hydrogen electrode may be out of an oven/hotbox before it has to be returned or in some cases discarded.

As Vonash has said,if you take a handful of rods out of the oven for use on the job and you are not in an environment exposed to moisture (workshop etc) then when you put them back in the holding oven they are "reconditioned" and not "rebaked""
