I need to provide recommendations for residential elevator foundation. Can someone tell me if there is a single or dual column like loadings, any impact loads etc to consider.

The soils are very stiff clays and realize that settlement will likely control.

It is a three story residence-I believe the drawings call for something like 4 by 5 ft pit at least 12 inches into the ground. I need the approximate total load on that pit. Thanks.

it all depends on size/capacity and speed of elevator.weight to be considered ranges from 450kg(6 persons) to 1000kg(15 persons)approx. The data you are giving reflects that it might be upto 10 person capacity elevator which leads to approximately 680-700kg of load.i use data from manufacturer's specs and use it for my design's requirement.
If you get the manufacturers specs, nothing like it.
