Resistance welding

There are various variables one need to consider when using resistance welding such as the the current, pressure and temperature. I am new to the area, Can anyone explain how these variables are measured and controlled during the welding operation? Do we use sensors for example to measure them?

I would suggest calling one or more vendors to discuss background and application directly. Nothing better than dealing with qualified vendors of ERW equipment.

I went thru a similar learning curve with a resistance welding project in my garage. I was trying to make a small spot weld between two thin pieces of 17-7ph stainless steel strip. After playing around with the welder settings and melting several dozen weld samples, I finally figured out that I needed to make a set of custom tungsten-tipped copper electrodes to produce the weld I needed. The electrode design was more important than adjusting the welder's current, pressure, timing, etc.

Definitely a good learning experience though.
