resizing bridle connection from 3/4" to 2"

hello,

i would like to inquire what is the best practice to re-size a bridle connection from 3/4" to 2". the main bridle size is 2", SS316, 2mm wall thickness. is it advisable to cut the 3/4" weld-o-let and replace it with 2" weld-o-let or to install a 2" equal tee in place? our subcontractor prefer to use the weldolet... i couldn't find a reference in b31.3 for this application... can you help?

I don't know about others but I am having trouble understanding your question.
Could you please include a sketch or photo with a description of what you mean.

whats a bridle connection?

and welding a weldolet on a 2" 2mm thickk pipe is a very bad idea. it will banana-warp the pipe instantly (due to excessive heat input in 316) and leave you with an 'elbow' you dont need.

What type of instrumentation is on this bridle, plus size and connection type? FYI ...At 2" it's a push as to if the connection is welded or threaded ...normally.

The tee would be easier to install. It will be difficult to cut out the 3/4" weldolet with Sch 10 pipe.
