Hello,

I am looking to make a transition into HVAC and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good resources for learning the material.

Appreciate any information you can provide!

In Springfield, MA, STIC offers day and night courses in HVAC and in addition take a course in thermodynamics.

Need to narrow it down a little bit, the HVAC field is still very broad - design or construction, commercial or residential or industrial, engineer or contractor or project manager, designer or sell equipment, and the list could keep going on

There are a lot of different books, training courses by reputable manufacturers, etc - but just about everyone I know just had a basic mechanical engineering background (maybe they took one HVAC college course) coupled with calculation and drafting skills and then just worked their way up learning bit by bit on the job from entry level. Once you get started you'll find the parts you like, the parts you don't like, some skills will come easier than others, and then from there you can pick which HVAC road you want to continue down.

I was basically referring to the fundamental of HVAC altho. STIC also has hands on lab work on real equipment.

it may help if you state what your current knowledge and experience level is.
Did you graduate from a mechanical engineering program and had some MEP internships, or are you 6 years old and graduated from kindergarden, or something in between? That may give u some perspective on what to advise.
