Respected Users, I am applying cyclic load to the adhesive lap but the simulation shows results are just coming out for just half cycle while I applied 10 cycles in tabular data. The job status is running but the results is not going beyond after running a simulation for a day. Please identify the problem. Here is the result displayed.

Thanks

Which type of analysis step is it ? What is the step time ? Any hints regarding the progress of the analysis in the status or message file ?

Respected User, Its static general and the time period is 1 with increment initial 0.0001, maximum 0.001 and minimum 10E-15 in the step module. The size of step in the LOAD MODULE have tabular data in amplitude for applied boundary condition set by default for 29.7s the left column is time in seconds while the right is the fluctuation in the applied deformation from 0 to 0.15 to 0 to -0.15 to 0. The message file is attached. This time I run the job with status completed but the result is just coming out only upto 1sec. The time span in amplitude is step time and total time, which one should I chose? THANKS

Can you share the .cae or .inp file ? If not, then other files like .sta would also be useful.

The difference between step time and total time in amplitude definition is that the former is based on the step time reset after each step in multistep analyses while the latter is based on the total time that keeps increasing in multistep analyses. For example, if you have 2 steps with time = 1 s each, then the step time goes from 0 to 1 first and then again from 0 to 1 so it's 1 at the end of the analysis. Total time goes from 0 to 1 and then from 1 to 2 so it's 2 at the end of the analysis.

P.S. Can you put this amplitude definition in your previous post in Code tags ? Should be easier to read then.

Hello. But as far as I checked this problem was not due to steptime and the total time in the amplitude instead it was due to the timeperiod in the step module where I put the time period to be 29.7s and then the simulation run completely but not by putting the total time and step time!

You asked about the difference between those two:

The time span in amplitude is step time and total time, which one should I chose?

So I explained it. Regarding the issue itself - see my request in the previous post - it will be hard to help without the cae or inp file.
