Hi Guys

I have a small problem in UGnx Manufacturing , ie.

For eg:

I used Dia 1.5R.235" bull nose endmill keeping part stock 0.25" ,

now I used Rest machining with Dis 1R.2" bull nose endmill using reference tool dia 1.5 R0.235" bull nose endmill keeping part stock 0.04"

as per my knowledge the 1"r.2 em must cut everywhere but its not.. it is cutting only corners .. why?
Is there any menthod to cut my 1" em all over the part
thanks
Simon

What operations are you using?
Are you specifying the reference tool as a diameter or by selecting the tool?
Have you tried using the 3D IPW for this?

Can you describe in more detail what you are trying to accomplish?

Are using reference tool and not IPW? Using a reference tool will only make a path where the reference tool will not cut. Cavity Mill and Z-level Profile work similar with reference tool. If you are roughing and want the smaller tool to cut all the walls you will have to use cavity mill with IPW and specify less stock than the previous tool.

Hi

Thanks for reply ,Yep I am useing reference tool in cavity mill.

Just like the error messages says, when using an IPW you need to have your part geometry selected in the Operation Navigator-Geometry view. Unless you have customized it, the default geometry view probably has a workpiece underneath a MCS. Double click the workpiece; there you can specify your part geometry as well as blank, check and some other things.

My attached image shows the geometry dialog. I have my part selected here, not in my cavity mill operation. I also specified my blank here as well, using auto block with some offset applied.
