Return Air offset up

We have a situation where our return air is coming out of the shaft and getting in the room doing an offset up. Is this a problem for maintenance?

Are there dampers or a fan in this duct? Otherwise, I don't see any maintenance requirements. Do you have a specific concern?

There are not. My concern was because this is a return air and I was thinking that maybe the air could be trapped. Is this idea of avoiding offsets up and down along the run applicable for Exhaust at least, so We don't have the dust "trapped" in the corners of the elbows?
Sorry for these questions that may be basics, but I'm new on this field hahaha.
