Hi,

I would like to know how you manage with new members of reusable library and if I´m doing right.
This is how it works in my company:
EG: I create a new hex head bolt for my assembly.
By default NX saves them in $UGII_TMP_DIR/ReuseLibraryFamilyMember so I change the directory to another folder in our server.

In this way all my colleague can open my assembly as “as saved”.
But we have a folder full of bolts, nuts, washer, etc.
****
I know there is an option in Assy load options “Generate Missing Part Family Members”.

But it doesn´t work with “as saved” option. You have to set “from search folder” and enter the library folder, so in this way NX knows how to create the new bolt.

I´m the only one who thinks that NX should know where the library is using “as saved”? :(

You are talking about two different things...

If you create a new part in the re-use library you are not creating a new Part Family Member.
This can only be achieved by opening the Part Family Parent (master), and let it create the new family member through the partfamily spreadsheet.

I don´t know. Perhaps I didn´t explained myself well. (My English is not really good :()

For example, I add into my assembly (using Reuse library) a "Plain Washer, clevis, DIN, 3.prt."
By default NX saves it in a temp folder in my PC.

I open the same assembly from another computer. I don´t have access to this folder. But we are using the same Reuse Library. So I modify assembly load options as you can see below:

LOAD_OPTIONS_jeedql.jpg

If I don´t set "Generate missing part family members" the next error occurs:

error_de_carga_ftgz7k.jpg

If I set "Generate missing part family members" NX display the next message and the washer appears:

My only complaint is that I have to change my load options and it doesn´t work with As saved.

I would like to know how other companies works with Reuse Library…
