Reverse Projected Direction

Reverse Projected Direction - Anyone know the reason behind this option ? It's available when adding a projected view, and has caught several people out.

Is there a customer default to set it to be off ?

That option should NEVER be 'ON' by default. The only way that I'm aware of that you will find it 'turned ON' is if the last time someone used this dialog they toggled this option ON as dialog memory would have retained it. So just toggled it OFF and it should stay that way (unless you actually toggle it back ON again yourself).

As for what the option does, it allows you to create a '1st Angle' projected view on a Drawing which was originally created to be a '3rd Angle' Drawing (or vice-versa). You may not be aware of this, but not everyone uses the same scheme when creating orthographic views on a Drawing. In fact, North America is about the only place where 3rd Angle projections are considered normal. Most of the rest of the world uses 1st Angle projections or 'Dutch Projections', as we used to call them back when I was working as a draftsman (which was odd as the company was British-owned and so they always thought we were the ones doing everything backwards).

I understand what it does, just curious as to why 'you' would allow this option ?

Had two users contact me today, confused, as this option is toggled on for them.
