This is driving me nuts. Using Solid Edge ST2 Synchronous ISO Part. I have a list of points that form a 2D closed curve. I store them in a three-column Excel sheet with x,y,z coordinates in mm (where all the y points are 0). Here is that Excel sheet:
Then, I import the points to form a curve in Solid Edge using Surfacing ribbon > Curves group > Keypoint > Curve by Table. Choose the XLS file.
This makes the following curve appear in Solid Edge:
Here's the question: How do I revolve this curve around the Z-axis to form a closed donut-like shape? I want it to be a solid body, not a surface. It has to be exported to a STEP file. Using the usual Home ribbon > Solids group > Revolve doesn't allow me to select the curve in the first (sketch) step of the revolution.
Am I going about this completely wrong? Is there a way to import a list of x,y coordinates to a 2D sketch, rather than importing the list of x,y,z coordinates to a 3D curve? (And then I could revolve that sketch in the normal way.)
