Hi
I have two cylinders whose tops I need to cap, each with a dome surface, 72 mm in height. The cylinders are an open surface. The circumference of each resulting dome has to fit perfectly over that of each open cylinder. However because the opening on top of each cylinder is not a perfect circle, I cannot create an axis and consequently create the domes with the revolve operator.
I have also tried to create the caps with the sweep operator (with pulling direction) using semi circular profiles with a radius of 72 mm over the openings – but to no avail.
“The vertex of the profile leads to cusp” is a message I got often.
Could somebody tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thank you for your time.
