I have been trying to configure a Rexroth 5610 series 3 phase VFD to operate via a 4-20mA signal the old VFD was unserviceable, and there is no parameters settings on hand.

The VFD has no other control wired in, only "line in" and "Load out" and the 4-20mA input on the A1/ground terminals.

I need to know what parameters I would need to set to allow the VFD to start in the forward running state, when the unit is supplied the line voltage via the upstream contactor on the line in terminals, run at the speed/frequency set via the mA input?

Thanks Scotty I agreed, the VFD has been installed as an after thought to control a small screw conveyor which is feeding a screw press to reduce the feed material if the main press load increase over a set point, I'll look at removing the contactor & install a control relay to control the VFD.

A common way to accomplish on-off and speed control with nothing but the Analog Input is to set up the AI on the VFD so that at the absolute lowest value, the drive turns off (or goes into "sleep mode"), with a run/wake setting just above that. So for example with your AI being 4-20 mA, a signal below 5mA means the drive goes to sleep (on, but no output), then your speed range is 5mA = minimum speed, 20 mA = max speed. If you can't adjust your analog source, set the drive for 0-20 mA input and turn off your transmitter so that the signal goes <4mA.
